Rakel "Malaika" Crockett

PRESIDENT

YEAR: 4th

MAJOR: Strategic Communications on the Advertising Track

MINORS: Leadership and Interdisciplinary Design with a focus in Graphic Design

WHY DID YOU WANT TO BE PRESIDENT?

Given that I have been on the Executive Board for Sigma for a majority of my undergrad, I had the knowledge and vision to continue to guide our organization to become the best versions of ourselves. I wanted to help create the foundation of our organization so once I graduate we continue to grow and never have to worry about our foundation.

Alila “Elusive” Phomtalikhith

INTERNAL VICE PRESIDENT

YEAR: 3rd

MAJOR: Health Service Management

CERTIFICATE: Human Resource Development

WHY DID YOU WANT TO BE INTERNAL VICE PRESIDENT?

I chose to be IVP because I wanted to be someone sisters could go to when they need help/support/advice. I want to be someone who's always there and involved. Overall, I'm proud to be a sister of SYZ, and I'm proud to represent the Alpha Kappa Charter!

Lanya “LibellulaS” Mohammed

EXTERNAL VICE PRESIDENT

YEAR: 3rd

MAJOR: Biology, Society, and Environment

MINORS: Public Health and Leadership

WHY DID YOU WANT TO BE EXTERNAL VICE PRESIDENT?

Sigma has helped me grow in many aspects both personally and professionally. I wanted to be EVP because It was time for me to apply the some of the skills I had learned such as relationship building to help the organization grow on campus by building and maintaining good relationships with other organizations within our council and the community as a whole. I believe that in unity we are stronger and we deliver our best when there is love, support, and respect for each other. I aim to apply those values in my role and represent Sigma Psi Zeta best through my conduct and action.

Lilly “eSPerantia” Her

SECRETARY

YEAR: 3rd

MAJOR: Industrial and Systems Engineering

MINOR: Business Management

WHY DID YOU WANT TO BE SECRETARY?

I wanted to be secretary because I believe that it is important to keep everyone in the loop. My goals for the sorority as a whole was to make it easier for sisters to understand what happened when they weren't present and alleviate their stress when they needed something to be done. My goals for myself was that I wanted to challenge myself in a position I've never done before and wanted to become more organized as well. Being secretary has opened my eyes to so many things, and I'm so happy I took my chances with it.

Rebecca "Elysium" Phi

TREASURER

YEAR: 4th

MAJOR: Psychology

MINOR: Public Health

WHY DID YOU WANT TO BE TREASURER?

I LOVE MONEEEYYYYYYYY! Just kidding, but I really wanted us to grow our funds to be able to participate in more opportunities because having insufficient funding was not a good enough reason for our organization to not participate. I also actually do love money though in all seriousness lolol.

Sumaya "Niji" Mohamed

NATIONAL COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE

YEAR: 4th

MAJORS: Sociology of Law, Crime, and Deviance & English

MINOR: Strategic Communications

WHY DID YOU WANT TO BE NATIONAL COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE?

Sigma has always opened so many doors and opportunities for me, and I’ve always known I eventually would want to join our National board. NCR is the perfect way to bridge the gap between our local charter and our National board. It helps me act as a liaison for Alpha Kappa, and essentially, help our charter always be clued in on what’s happening with our organization as a whole.
