Philanthropy and Cause.
Hazing is defined as any action taken or any situation that intentionally causes embarrassment, harassment, or ridicule and risks emotional and/or physical harm to members, regardless of the person’s willingness to participate.
Sigma Psi Zeta Sorority, Inc. has a strict anti-hazing policy. Honoring our cause, we do not tolerate any degradation or harm towards others.
If you are reading this, perhaps you are a college-aged female-identifying individual, or know someone of this demographic. The cause that we support is one that directly affects this demographic. It is prevalent on our campus and yet is hidden, at house parties, on social media, and within intimate relationships.
To combat the violence against womxn is the philanthropy that we support and strongly care about. We passionately declare that love shouldn’t hurt, and we aim to empower the womxn within our organization as well as those surrounding us to do so as well.
Empowerment and Individualism.
We believe in the potential of our current and prospective members. We believe the womxn of this organization can and will achieve great things. They will contribute to their chapters and charters at a local and national level, to their local universities and communities, and to everyone they come to know.
Our sisterhood does not require any womxn to fit into a mold. Rather, we recognize our differences are what enhance and enrich our sisterhood. We do not seek the "perfect sister" as we cannot and have not tried to define her. Our sisters define themselves through their personal stories and the ways their unique contributions elevate our sorority. Our organization celebrates the individuality of thought in all the womxn who wear our letters.
Passion and Community.
With an active house of over 30 members each semester and over 25 different ethnic backgrounds, we continuously encourage the pursuit of our Ten Rays of Sisterhood at our local chapter in each member’s unique ways.
Our sisters have had a history of holding leadership positions for many different organizations, whether cultural, social, professional, or community-service oriented. We are actively involved in supporting each of the communities that we are affiliated with.

Come get to know SYZters and hang out with us! We will be holding formal recruitment for Fall 2022 in September, future dates will be announced as school starts!
